DeEdra Clinkscales has been married for 40 years and is the proud mother of three sons and grandmother to 12 wonderful grandchildren. Family has always been at the center of her life, and over the years that circle has grown in ways she never could have imagined.
She and her husband began their fostering journey in 2007 and opened their home to their first placements in 2008. Since then, they have fostered over 100 children. They have also lived in a foster village community for over five years, surrounding themselves with others who share this calling. Each child has brought a unique story, and it has been an honor to provide them with love, stability, and support during important times in their lives.
While there were moments they thought they might adopt, DeEdra has come to understand that her true calling is to be “the mom in the middle”—offering care, comfort, and guidance while helping children transition to their next chapter, whether that means returning home or moving on to a forever family.
She and her family are guided by their faith in all that they do, trusting that each child who comes through their door is placed in their care for a reason. It is their prayer that every child feels safe, valued, and deeply loved, and that they can be a small part of God’s plan for their life.
